Recipe for Filet Mignon

Recipe Filet Mignon with Roasted Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus

Filet Mignon

Here is what you will need to create the perfect Filet Mignon dinner at home.

Ingredients:

    • 2 Filet Mignon steaks
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
    • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary

Instructions:

    1. Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures that they cook evenly.
    2. Preheat your oven to 400Β°F.
    3. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and pepper.
    4. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Once the pan is hot, add the steaks and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, until a nice crust forms.
    5. Add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and the fresh herbs to the pan. Tilt the pan towards you and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the melted butter and herbs for about 1-2 minutes.
    6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for about 5-6 minutes, or until the steaks reach your desired internal temperature. For medium-rare, the temperature should be around 130Β°F.
    7. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Roasted Rosemary Potatoes

These are the perfect side dish to complement the rich and flavorful Filet Mignon.

Ingredients:

    • 4-5 medium-sized potatoes, chopped into bite-sized pieces
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 400Β°F.
    2. In a bowl, toss the chopped potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh rosemary.
    3. Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

If you haven’t drank the whole bottle of Barbera before the cooking has even started then considering creating this amazing wine glaze to drizzle on top of your Filet Mignon.

Ingredients:

    • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/2 cup beef broth
    • 1/4 cup Belledor Barbera wine
    • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

    1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    2. Add the minced garlic and sautΓ© for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
    3. Add the beef broth and Belledor Barbera wine and bring the mixture to a boil.
    4. Reduce the heat to a simmer and let the sauce cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until it has reduced by about half and has thickened.
    5. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

Once everything is ready to go, plate the delicious food and drizzle the Barbera Wine Glaze over the Filet Mignon.
